The blue whale is the largest animal ever to roam the planet. It is larger than even the largest dinosaurs. The heart of an adult blue whale is the size of a compact car, and a small child could crawl through its arteries.
Adult blue whales consume approximately 4 tons of krill each day. Between 12 and 80 individual blue whales spend several weeks off Loreto in late winter to feed on the krill which is carried here via the currents.
